The stage opens on total weirdness. This piece was inspired by the Cramps song, "Journey to the Center of a Girl" and the cover art on the Best of Kansas album (which I don't own or have ever heard but just happened to come across on the internet), which has an old guy pulling back a stage curtain and pointing in on play set. Perfectly sober, I thought, wouldn't it be neat to have a girl pulling back a curtain on herself pulling back a curtain on herself..., and each time wearing one less item of clothes, yet getting smaller and harder to see each time?

Zantanna just seemed like a natural choice. She picked up this wierd facial coloring from the cover of my threadworn copy of the Amateurs Magician's Handbook, and then that became the curtain color. And, all in all, I think I like the idea of it better than the pic itself. This is a classic example of it being too much work for what it's worth. It took twelve hours total, and I knew it was taking too long while I was doing it and got sloppy. Her breasts actually seem to increase a cup size with every curtain call - now there's a magic trick. Still, I'm glad it's done. It's funny, when I started drawing three years ago, I had no problem putting twenty five hours into a single piece. Now I get ticked if I spend more than five. Progress?

Or. Bunnnnnny!!!!!!
